WEF has reached out to WEAT to coordinate the sign-on of utilities to a letter supporting H.R. 2964, the Wastewater Infrastructure Pollution Prevention and Environmental Safety Act, or the WIPPES Act. The WIPPES Act, which
is a bipartisan effort to correctly label wipes with a "Do Not Flush" notice, is at a critical point in Congress. It has been passed by the full House and is now in the Senate before (hopefully) becoming law. We are hoping the Senate will adopt it as is and hot line the bill.
Senator Cruz needs to hear from all Texas utilities and water
entities.
We are not looking for individual letters sent by utilities, but rather one single letter with as many water districts/municipalities signing on as possible.
Many thanks to Phillip Goodwin, WEAT GAC VC, who will be leading the collection coordination effort. Please email Phillip Goodwin, phillip.goodwin@houstontx.gov, and admin@weat.org if your entity is considering adding their name and logo to the
letter.
Please respond back to Phillip Goodwin and admin@weat.org NO LATER THAN Thursday, November 7.
